The Best Food Dehydrator Ideas For Your Kitchen
What are the best food dehydrator ideas in terms of
the food to use? For most people this tends to be fruit and vegetables,
and this will give you a whole new set of low fat, healthy snacks that retain
all the health benefits of fresh fruit and are great to take out with you when
you are away from home. Meat can also be used. Simply take slices of meat that
you purchased from the deli and set them into the dehydrator and you have a
tasty meaty snack that is also useful for camping and hiking.
The units come in many sizes and tend to be mains powered. Some food dehydrators have stackable trays which allow you to have more than one layer of food. Some just have one tray, but it largely depends on how much space you have available in your kitchen. Most fit on the work top when in use, but whether you would want to leave it there all the time or whether you would need to make sure you have cupboard space to store it in is up to you. The units are not necessarily that expensive, starting at about $50 for the basic model, moving up to more expensive. However, as with most appliances some of the cheaper models can do as good a job as the most expensive units.
