My favorite holiday food

My favorite holiday food is pork and sauerkraut. This is the traditional New Year's meal which has been passed down in my family through generations. The combination is supposed to bring good luck in the New Year, and is an important part of Pennsylvania Dutch culture. Even after a dozen years of living outside of Pennsylvania I still feel like I haven't started the year well if I haven't had this for dinner on January 1, and I don't even like sauerkraut very much. I would be very interested to know what other traditional New Year's foods and recipes people have had passed down through their families.
