We went with a concrete countertop

We went with a concrete countertop. The previous countertop was laminate, which we hated. It takes a long time to install, but there are a lot of options for the coloring to choose from. We have a semi-circle breakfast bar area and one end of the counter has this weird angle to accommodate the back door.

I didn’t think there was a way that the contractor was going to be able to mold the concrete for the bar and weird corner. But he showed me that it was just like a curved sidewalk. It’s all about the framing. Once the concrete cures, the frame is removed and the counter is done.
